An Evite alternative built around the plan
Evite is an invitation service, and a well-known one: you pick a card, send it and watch the replies come in. LazyParty starts a step earlier. You answer three questions and it drafts the plan the invitation is for, then gives you an invite to send.
Three short screens, and no account needed to see your plan. Nothing is sent to your guests until you say so.

Evite
- A large library of invitation designs, some free and some paid.
- Invitations sent for you by email or text.
- RSVP tracking that shows who is coming, who isn't and who hasn't answered.
LazyParty
- A countdown checklist
- A budget that adds up
- A menu and shopping list
- A party-day schedule
- An invite on one link
- Potluck sign-up
- Address after yes
- Reminders for the host
What we say about Evite was checked in October 2026 and is kept to what it is plainly built for. Products change: if something here is out of date, tell us at hello@lazyplaner.com and we'll correct it. LazyParty is not affiliated with Evite.
What LazyParty does
- A countdown checklist
- Every task dated backwards from party day. Move the date and the list moves with it.
- A budget that adds up
- Your number split by the kind of party, with the lines totalling exactly what you entered.
- A menu and shopping list
- Dishes that fit the dietary needs you name, and quantities sized to the headcount.
- A party-day schedule
- When to set up, when to eat and when the cake comes out.
- An invite on one link
- Guests reply without an app or an account. Adults and kids are counted separately.
- Potluck sign-up
- Guests claim a dish on the invite, so the table balances.
- Address after yes
- The address stays hidden until a household says they're coming, unless you turn that off.
- Reminders for the host
- A week before, three days before and the day before, with what is still open.
The party planner page shows a full plan it drafted, not a mock-up.
When Evite is the better choice
- You want to choose from many card designs, or match a theme exactly.
- You want the service to send the invitations and chase the replies for you.
- Your guests already expect an Evite and know how to answer one.
What LazyParty doesn't do
- There is no app to install: it runs in the browser.
- It doesn't text or email your guests for you. Guests never give an address, so you send the link yourself.
- There is no shared photo album.
- You can add a photo and a message to the invite, but not choose its design.
- It doesn't sell tickets or collect money.
Questions
Is there a free alternative to Evite?
Yes. LazyParty is free while it is in early access: the planner, the invite, RSVPs and reminders are all included, and guests see no adverts.
Do guests need an account to RSVP?
No. They open the link in whatever browser they have and reply in a few seconds: who is coming, how many adults and kids, and anything they can't eat.
Can I send the invite by text or WhatsApp?
Yes. The invite is one link, with buttons to send it by WhatsApp, text or email from your own phone. You can also make a personal link for each household, so you can see exactly who has replied.
What does it do besides the invitation?
It plans the party. You get a checklist with real due dates, a budget split by the kind of party, a menu that respects dietary needs, a shopping list sized to your headcount and a schedule for the day.
